The River Scholars Program, initiated by the Aquatarium Education Team, presents an engaging educational opportunity. Specifically designed for homeschool students in Brockville, Kingston, and Ottawa, this program provides hands-on learning experiences through workshops, coupled with access to the aquarium. By participating in the program, you can bypass the need to form a group to benefit from our educational pricing discounts, enabling you to concentrate on enhancing your family’s learning journey.
The program is available from January 2024 through May 2024. Workshops are held on the last Monday and Friday of each month, starting on Jan 29th and concluding on May 27th.
The program is specifically designed for homeschoolers in Brockville, Kingston, and Ottawa. It aims to provide enriching and entertaining experiences for students aged 6-12.
The River Scholar ticket includes full access to the aquarium on the day of the workshop, allowing homeschoolers and their families to embark on their own adventure in addition to the offered class. Workshop tickets are sold separately.
The River Scholars workshops are held once a month on the last Friday and Monday of each month. The program runs from January to May, with two workshop sessions on each date: 10:30-11:30 and 1:00-2:00.
The workshops are designed for students ages 6-12
The 60-minute hands-on workshops occur either in the learning lab or on exhibit, providing an engaging and interactive learning environment.
Each program’s enrollment is limited to 20 students.

Organizing large groups to go anywhere can be difficult. We want to take that stress away by providing specific homeschool days where you can receive discounted educational pricing. So don’t worry about getting a group of 10, bring your family and come enjoy some educational learning with us. In addition to our discounted prices and educational programming; homeschool families can receive 10% off all educational giftshop items (including the AQ at Home bags and books).
Only those who need a parent (5 and under or for developmental reasons) shall have a parent stay with them for the duration of the program. Adult supervision is recommended especially if your child will require additional one-on-one support from you in order to successfully participate, or if you think they will be unwilling to stay with the class for the duration of the program.

If you or any member of your party or family is not feeling well, do not visit. Plan to come when everyone is well. In the event of illness, please let us know and we will try to reschedule your trip or provide a refund if we are unable to do so.
Other Cancellations: Full refund within 48 hours of visit; less than 48 hours notice, no refunds. Exceptions apply for illness and inclement weather.
Please note that if your trip must be cancelled due to bad weather, we will try to reschedule your trip, subject to available dates.
