AQ Covid-19 Response

Monday, December 22nd, 2020

Note: The Aquatarium will be closed until Jan 23rd or later in accordance with the Covid-19 response announcement from the Government of Ontario. Please watch our social media for re-opening updates.

Due to the recent announcement by Doug Ford regarding the restriction on interactive exhibits at museums and discovery centres in the Toronto, Peel and Ottawa regions; the Aquatarium would like to announce that, since we are not located in those areas, we will remain OPEN this Thanksgiving Saturday & Sunday as currently scheduled. Unless, of course, there are any other unforeseen changes in our direct region.

Winter hours begin next weekend.

The decision has been made to revert back to guided tours of max 10 people effective Oct. 17 & 18, 2020. Which will be Saturdays & Sundays 10am-5pm. Closed Monday-Friday with an option of private tours of 10 or more by special request. This decision was made in light of the recent announcement by Premier Ford so that the Aquatarium can be proactive should there be any changes in our area.

Please note: Infants & Accessibility attendants are now required to register their space within the group booking.

We will continue to offer the same safe services that have won us the World Travel & Tourism Council’s #safetravels award by the Tourism Industry Association of Ontario.
The Aquatarium continues to follow the Lanark, Leeds & Grenville’s Health Unit as well as the Municipal and Provincial guidelines.
Guests will be admitted by times and no more than 30% of our capacity will be inside the AQ at any one time. In accordance with the Covid-19 protocols.
Aquatarium appreciate guests’ patience with the facility as they adapt to the ways of operating in these uncertain times.
We ask that guests will recognize and adhere to the Lanark Leeds & Grenville Health unit’s guidelines and remain 6’ away from other guests that are not a part of their immediate party and wear a mask at all times while inside the facility.
The Aquatarium remains cognizant of everyone’s safety and are doing our very best to ensure Covid-19 safe protocols are being followed by offering timed visits, size limits, floor markings, hand sanitizing stations at all exhibits, extra sanitation staff on top of our regular cleaners and AQ Ambassadors monitoring each floor.
Social distancing will be recognized as well as guests and staff will be required to wear a mask while inside the Aquatarium facility. Curious to know more about mask protocol? We follow these guidelines:…/covid-19/face-coverings-masks/
Given the nature of the current pandemic, please know that these protocols and procedures may change without notice. Please check the Aquatarium’s website for the most up to date information before each visit.
Aquatarium would like to thank you for your patience as they navigate the new norm. Tickets are available and to be pre-booked online at
