Seaway 60th Celebration - Saturday June 22, 2019 11am-5pm. $6 Admission!

Thank you for your interest in contacting the Aquatarium for support. The Aquatarium receives a vary large number of ticket donation requests from many organizations. As we are a registered not-for-profit charity we understand the need to give and receive support. Please read the following information before requesting a donation to ensure that you meet the donation request criteria.

Requests for support must be submitted on an organization’s letterhead and be received through an email to [email protected]. Requests via phone or mail fax will not be accepted.

    1. Due to a very high volume of requests received from schools and post-secondary institutions, we are unable to support all individual school fundraising activities. We do however offer discounted admission rates for schools through our Class Visit Programs.
    2. Requests must be received at least 6 weeks in advance of the need.
    3. Requests must contain the Charitable Number in order to be considered.
    4. The Aquatarium donates to a wide variety of community groups that align with our charitable purpose, particularly groups with a focus on children/youth, education and the environment. Due to the large number of requests we receive, we are not able to support every request.
    5. The Aquatarium does not fulfill donation requests to the following groups and organizations:
      • Political or religious organizations
      • For-profit ventures

An organization will be approved for only one request per year.

    1. Tickets not used by the expiration date cannot be re-issued and will become void after the expiration date.
    2. As a not-for-profit organization, the Aquatarium does not make cash donations.
    3. The Aquatarium cannot grant requests involving animal interactions, memberships or behind-the-scenes tours.
    4. Written requests must include the following information:

We have several ways to volunteer at the Aquatarium, each with their own additional benefits and opportunities. We invite you to visit our VOLUNTEER page on the website to learn how you can join our team and become a part of our Aquatarium family for years to come!

Our otters are rescued North American river otters and are not domesticated. As such, they have a different temperament than those you may see on line where people are interacting with otters one on one. Those otters are usually Asian Small Claw otters and are not native to the St. Lawrence river. As there is no safe way to allow people, including our team members, to directly interact with river otters, we are unable to offer close encounters with them.

No. With the exception of our salt water touch tank, all our fish and animals in the Aquatarium are native to the St. Lawrence River area. We have otters, pike, sturgeon, carp, trout and bass just to name a few.

Follow us on our social media accounts (FacebookTwitter and Instagram) which we update regularly.

The experience takes approximately 90 minutes. However, this time will vary from person to person.

We take reservations for weddings, meetings and events. Book your special day with us now, and host your special day at one of the most exciting attractions in the 1000 Islands! Contact our Events Team to discuss all the details at: [email protected]

Yes! As long as you provide your admission receipt at the front desk before leaving ON THE DAY YOU PURCHASED the admissions, all the funds can be applied towards a yearly Friends membership! Remember, if you visit us a total of three times in a year, it will have paid for itself!

Yes, we have a limited number of wheelchairs available for visitors on a first-come, first-served basis.

We feature many types of fish that are indigenous to the St. Lawrence River and the surrounding 1000 Islands area. River otters, various reptiles, amphibians and many more friendly critters call the Aquatarium their permanent home. Ongoing guest speakers and scientists bring in different and unique species for special Aquatarium visits. We list them on our calendar of events so be sure not to miss them!

We are located at the foot of Broad Street in Brockville, Ontario, Canada, right on the waterfront. We are in the first floors of the Tall Ships Landing building and even offer indoor parking off Flint Street.  Our address is:

The Aquatarium offers a full range of interactions & activities for kids, teens and adults, as guests are encouraged to experience life in the 1000 Islands region. Guests participate in hands-on interactive exhibits as well as seeing many species of fish and animals, such as otters, native to the St. Lawrence River. We have several replica ships that are found in the St. Lawrence river, as well as amazing experiences such as green screen adventures and a salt water touch tank! We seek to rekindle a passion for learning and engage visitors in the distinctive history, culture and environment of the 1000 Islands.
